Audra McDonald is unparalleled in her range and the versatility of her artistry as both a singer and an actor. Audra McDonald who has won six Tony Awards in a row and two Grammy Awards in 2015 was recognized as one of Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People. President Barack Obama also awarded her the National Medal of Arts -- America's highest honour for achievements in this field. She is equally at home on television, film and Broadway. Her stunning soprano makes her a natural on the stage. As well as her stage work, McDonald has earned a name for herself in a professional career that has a substantial recording and concert career. She frequently performs in the most prestigious places. McDonald is from Fresno California, where she was raised by a clan of musicians. In the Juilliard School in New York City, McDonald received training as an classical vocalist. She was awarded her debut Tony Award in 1994 for the Best Performance of the Featured Actress in a musical called Carousel in the Lincoln Center Theater. In the subsequent four years, she also won another two Tony Awards under the featured actress category. The Bite is a drama with six episodes based on an epidemic, produced through Spectrum Originals & CBS Studios. The show featured her in the show with Taylor Schilling & Steven Pasquale. McDonald, who first appeared in The Good Wife, a CBS show The Good Wife as a legal actress The Good Wife as U.S. attorneys Liz Lawrence and Liz Reddick from 2009 to 2018, reprised these characters (now called Liz Reddick) in The Good Fight as the Paramount+ season regular. McDonald has been nominated in Three Critics Choice Award awards. She currently guest-stars in Julian Fellowes' historical thriller The Gilded Age on HBO.
